Answer: Merlin Mann, The Hold Steady, and John Hodgman.

Question: What are three things often pictured with plastic-framed glasses?

Oooorrr: What are three awesomely cool things on the front page of maximumfun.org (the website for NPR’s “The Sound of Young America”)?

I just got back yesterday from five days in the Fargo flood. Here are the stories I was able to find on the Fox9 website.

Enjoy.

Maury and I put together a story tonight on Billy McLaughlin, an amazing guitarist who had to relearn how to play after being diagnosed with Dystonia. Here’s the video:

Here’s the story I did tonight with Maury Glover. Quick turn, but I think it came out pretty good. Very cute couple.

I was bored (and enjoying a beverage or two) tonight and started perusing the company website. After attempting a few months ago to update the site with my daily work, I found that most of it wasn’t really worth sharing. But tonight, I managed to find a few older stories that made me smile.

Top 3 Haunted Places: Maury and I did this story last Halloween … and (if you listen close) I even got to use a little Prince!

Mankato Dog Rescue: Dog gets stuck in a drain … poor dog.

Doggie Diabetes: Sometimes doggies get sick. In other news, check out Spencer’s Twin Cities television debut!

Packers Fill Up Dome: Rob Olson and I try to scalp some Vikes/Packers Tix.

Okay, you’ve had your fun … now get back to work! More soon.

So … it would seem I’m now older than the last time I wrote. My knees are now 32 years old, but they feel about 60. Spencer also had a birthday and we celebrated with many treats. Thank you to all who took the time to write emails and Facebook messages. I’m still trying to figure out the advantage of Facebook … but the kids seem to like it.

Holly took me to see Ben Folds at the Myth for my B-day gift. It was a blast. I hadn’t been out to that club before, so it was cool to see that as well. After quite a drought, it looks like Ben Folds started a run of good shows (The Hold Steady, The Bottle Rockets, etc) that I’ll be seeing over the next few weeks.

Besides neglecting my health, I have also been neglecting the TimGrossklaus.com. I know I promised to post my stories … but quite frankly, you haven’t missed much. I’ll try to get back on top of doing that. I’ll try to look back over the past few weeks and see if there’s anything worth posting.

Outside of work, I actually had some video that I shot a while back, used in a wrestling DVD. It was kinda cool seeing something that I shot in a DVD you could buy at Best Buy. Of course, my name wasn’t on it, but it was still cool to watch it and think, “Hey, I f’n shot that!” The disc even ended up #5 on Billboard’s Recreational Sports DVD Top Ten. Pretty cool.

Back to work, it looks like (for the first time in my career) I’ll be covering the Dems on election night. I’m really excited at the prospect of having Barack Obama as our prez and it’ll be nice to be in a setting where I’m not feeling miserable while those around me celebrate the further decline of our country. So, if you happen to be in Saint Paul on the 4th, feel free to stop by the DFL party and say “Hey”!

And remember …. VOTE!

The Hold Steady wiki shares a link with the Muppet wiki. Coincidence? I think not.
